IIM Bangalore Releases Curriculum For Free Online Course
The course will run until April 30.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has launched a new online course titled New Age Business Models to make quality management education more accessible. The six-week course is available on SWAYAM, the Ministry of Education’s online learning platform, and is offered by IIMBx, the institute’s digital learning arm.
The registration process began on January 29 and will go until February 29. The course will end on April 30. The course aims to help students, professionals and people interested in starting their businesses understand modern business models better.
Professor K Ganesh has been appointed an adjunct faculty member at IIMB. With a track record of launching and exiting successful ventures such as BigBasket, Tutorvista, Portea and Bluestone, he offers invaluable expertise. Alongside, as a founder and partner at GrowthStory, he helps emerging businesses and entrepreneurs.
The curriculum features keynote speakers such as Shekar Sharma, founder and CEO of Paytm, Ananth Narayan, CEO and founder of Mensa Brands, Arun Narayan, vice president of Tanishq and Vikram Vaidyanathan, managing partner of Matrix Partners.
The course uses different teaching methods, including video lectures, case studies, quizzes, self-assessment and discussion forums. This comprehensive learning approach helps participants understand modern business models.
Course Layout
During the first week, participants will receive an introduction to Business Models. Week 2 will involve a comparison between New Platform Business Models and Traditional Pipeline Business Models. In week 3, you will cover topics including Platforms and Marketplaces, followed by a closer look at Fintech Business Models and SaaS Business Models in Week 4. Week 5 will offer insights into various types of New Age Business Models. Finally, Week 6 will include a study on the subject of the Key Matrix for Measuring and Tracking New Age Business Models.
