Mumbai: Engineering student stabbed to death by bike-borne miscreants in Chembur

Bike-borne miscreants stabbed a 19-year-old student near an engineering college in Chembur on Thursday evening. After the incident, the student was rushed to the Sion Hospital where he succumbed to injuries later in the night.
The incident took place around 6 pm on Thursday near Swami Vivekananda Engineering college. The victim has been identified as Mudassar Sheikh, 19. Sheikh was walking with his friends when he was attacked by two men who were on a motorbike. The attacker stabbed the Sheikh many times and fled away from the spot.

After the incident, Chunabhatti police were alerted and cops rushed to the spot. Sheikh was rushed to Sion Hospital but was declared dead by doctors. Sheikh was a second-year student of engineering.
According to sources, the attack has a background of a love affair but cops haven`t cleared the motive behind the attack. Chunabhatti cops have registered a murder case against unknown persons and are on the lookout for the accused. Crime Branch is also conducting a parallel investigation. No arrests have been made yet.
