‘US for quick, transparent action in Pannun case’ | India News

The United States takes the Gurpatwant Singh Pannun murder-for-hire conspiracy “incredibly seriously” and has asked India to bring the accused to justice “quickly and transparently”, a senior US official said Wednesday.
India had formed a committee to probe the US allegations about the foiled murder plot last year but is yet to reveal any of its findings. The issue was again raised on Wednesday at a Congressional hearing on Pakistan’s recent elections.
“We are at the moment working with India to encourage India to hold accountable those responsible for this terrible crime,” US asst secy of state for South and Central Asian affairs Donald Lu said about the alleged involvement of an Indian official in the plot.
